Dilling is an American who lives in Paris and has a blog and podcast, Paris Paysanne, that depict her love of the Paris markets and the culture of food. Her first book, which is organized by seasons, includes descriptions of Dilling's favorite farmers markets including the address with the arrondissement, metro lines, and times of operation. She also provides information on "local-leaning" restaurants, natural wine, cookware, food shops, locally roasted coffee, community gardens, and Paris food trends. The recipes are a major part of the book. Most are easy to follow, call for few ingredients, and capitalize on the offerings of the season, such as strawberries and cider, shell beans dressed in olive oil with fresh thyme, and rhubarb compote. Color photos, an index by recipe/ingredient, and subject/name indexes enhance this source.
