Conner and Tiemeyer, co-creators of ThrivingHomeBlog.com, are self-styled "freezer meal evangelists" dedicated to making cooking easier and cheaper for busy families. Here, they share healthful, predominantly savory recipes (e.g., peaches and cream baked oatmeal, pesto chicken lasagna rolls, straight from Alaska salmon burgers, killer carnitas) that can be frozen and reheated without a significant loss in quality. To help home cooks stock their freezers more speedily, they suggest a freezer club or a freezer cooking party to divide the work among friends. They also offer practical guidance on storage times, thawing methods, and freezable containers. VERDICT Highly recommended for fans of make-ahead meals and batch cooking. Alea Milham's Prep-Ahead Meals from Scratch and Robin Donovan's The Healthy Make-Ahead Cookbook would make excellent companions.
