Chef Gorham and coauthor Crain (Toro Bravo) reunite for another cookbook, this one devoted to Gorham's Tasty n Sons and Tasty n Alder restaurants in Portland, OR. Featuring eclectic brunch, bistro, and diner foods (e.g., bim bop bacon and eggs, fried cauliflower with harissa cream, bone marrow toast, molten butterscotch cake), the book showcases bold tastes from around the globe. It's a winner for home cooks who feel like pancakes and eggs one day, charcuterie and cocktails the next. VERDICT Similar to John Currence's Big Bad Breakfast, Gorham's latest is an assertive and unconventional take on rich comfort foods.
