Hampson ("Room at the Inn") brings together contributions from 19 field specialists who profile notable beers from all seven continents. Although the book is rich in information, what makes it a stunning, indispensable reference are the illustrationsincluded are color maps and spectacular product shots. Organized first by country and then by name, each brewery entry features a glowing, full-color bottle or draft handle photo, headquarter's address, abridged history, and tasting notes on the brewery's principal light and dark beers. Standout features include the particulars on five American and European "Brewery Trails," a blank tasting-notes chart, and a brief brewer's lexicon. Highly recommended for brewery-related and culinary collections. [For more beer books, see Douglas Lord's recent online column Books for Dudes: Brew Your Own Beer.Ed.]
