In her previous title, The Drop 10 Diet (Ballantine, 2012), SELF magazine editor in chief Danziger introduced a diet plan that helped her lose more than 20 pounds. In this follow-up cookbook, she again profiles the diet's 30 underpinning superfoods (e.g., dark chocolate, edamame) and offers a straightforward plan for weight loss. According to Danziger, readers who eat a daily breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack from this book can expect to lose between one and two pounds per week. Recipes include coffee-shop and cocktail-hour favorites (Glazed Blueberry Goji Scones, Peanutty White Russian) and plenty of make-ahead, freezer-ready, quick, and no-cook options. VERDICT This cookbook offers a simplified weight-loss plan for busy professionals.
