Grades 7-10 Focusing on current and divisive topics, the Thinking Critically series (3 new titles) provides readers with informative background information on each topic discussed, along with facts and statements used to support each side of the issues presented. LGBT Issues discusses same-sex marriage, the rights of transgender people in the military, and the rights of LGBT employees as well as their employers. Each title provides separate chapters discussing different issues within the larger topic, with arguments provided for and against each individual issue. Quotes, facts, and illustrated charts are integrated into the text, which concludes with source notes and a list of related organizations.
