Gr 8 Up-The experts at Gold's Gym have synthesized stretches and workouts in this slim series. With illustrations that guide readers through movements, each volume is packed with tips and tricks to build a better body, including lots of important safety sidebars. Though the page length and reading level seems targeted at middle and high schoolers, frequent mentions of continuing workout plans while on business trips are a bit perplexing. Managing the stress of work-life balance is also mentioned, which also doesn't apply to the young audience. Perhaps the most cringe-worthy moment happens when Find Balance with Yoga and Pilates indicates that stretching with a romantic partner can deepen your bond and improve your relationship. VERDICT Don't be fooled by the trim size-this series is not written with kids in mind and is likely to be overlooked in an adult nonfiction collection.
