Gr 6 Up-Extremely readable, with helpful illustrations and sidebars, this book includes a definition of exercise addiction (with symptoms), describes how it may be related to other psychological disorders, profiles the types of people most at risk for developing it, discusses psychological and physiological dangers, and offers treatment options. The signs are given frequently, but since the book is targeted for adolescents, who can develop problems with body image, the repetition is warranted. Personal stories appear throughout, and there is a helpful list of questions for readers to ask themselves.
