Nonviolence

Richard Dreyfuss infuses Kurlansky's text with vocal enthusiasm, lyrical enunciation, clear pronunciation (including many foreign words), as well as sardonic wit, all of which create a deeply engaging experience. Whether he is speaking English, French, Cherokee, German, or tossing off European names and quotes, Dreyfuss's unique presentation enhances the book's historical and timely treatment of nonviolence. Among many memorable observations and lines is the summation: History teaches that as soon as the violent side convinces the nonviolent side to enter into violence, the argument is lost.
