The volumetrics idea is to eat foods with high water content and low calorie density, and to balance the type of calories we eat so we feel satisfied. A nutritional professor, Rolls makes the plan sound simple by not overloading listeners with too much technical information. There is also little or no psychobabble, and not much focus on introspection. Tracks are labeled for selective listening, and printable recipes, charts, and worksheets are included. Jana Robbins is steady and persistent as she unfolds the author's ideas and recommendations, but she's focusing on the information she's delivering rather than on the change process.
