In this work, Bender (founder, Full Circle Women's Health, Denver) and medical writer Colbert (coauthor, Before It's Too Late: What Parents Need To Know About Teen Pregnancy and STD Prevention) explain the symptoms of menopause and provide tips for dealing with the mental and physical changes menopause causes. The authors explain that menopause can affect mood, memory, appearance, weight, sex drive, and muscle and bones, and they offer advice on dealing with these effects. The authors also share information about medications women can use to treat various symptoms and they discuss meditation as a means to relax and reflect on spiritual health. VERDICT Women going through menopause or who know someone who is may find the tips provided beneficial for dealing with related complications.
