Fabric designer Lee-Creel and Soder, a stay-at-home mom with a home-based baking business, join forces for this collection of party-themed crafts and recipes. Organized by season and occasion, the party plans include holiday gatherings, children's birthday parties, and a bridal shower. Each includes a variety of crafts, with a focus on decor and favors. Most of the decor projects require basic machine-sewing skills, though there are a few that use hand embroidery, paper crafting, or crafting with natural materials such as branches or flowers. The recipes are standard party fare, tailored to the theme of each event. VERDICT Some of these projects are more successful than others, and it's difficult to imagine putting this much time and effort into handmade party accessories for a child's party or an outdoor picnic, but creative entertainers will find a wealth of ideas and inspiration in this collection.
