Many areas of safety and health in the production, distribution, and preparation of food have been of continuing concern since Winter first published this book ( LJ 5/1/69). Areas addressed in this updated edition include insecticides, "hidden ingredients" in processed foods, carcinogens, hazardous handling of fish, poultry, and meat, the water supply, restaurants, food-induced sickness and death, convenience foods, home safety, and food labeling.
