Superb. As a capsule history, this is brilliantly written and exquisitely presented. Like all the programs in the Knowledge Products series, its format uses a narrator supported by well-chosen actors speaking the parts of key historical figures: Churchill, Stalin, Roosevelt, Truman, Chiang Kai Shek and many others. Several hours are devoted to historical background; then the conflict is described in its many theaters, blunders, tragedies and victories.
