Grades 5-7 This installment in the Uncovering the Past series begins with the essential question about our need to study the past and then provides a streamlined process for reading and thinking critically about that topic. Subsequent chapters describe ways to consider primary and secondary sources as evidence and the role of interpretation in historical analysis. Finally, there are examples of immigrant experiences for readers to analyze. Though the content highly informational, the tone is refreshingly conversational and the organization uncluttered.
