AudioFile Magazine
Civil libertarian, liberal icon, and Harvard professor Alan M. Dershowitz covers much of the same ground that he did in his 2004 book, AMERICA ON TRIAL. In this case, however, he is delivering lectures, rather than narrating a book. In each lecture he describes a particular court case, discussing rather than detailing. The cases range from the Scopes monkey trial to Bush v. Gore. Dershowitz has an upper-range voice and often rushes. But he exudes a sincerity that overrides the defects in his delivery. In presenting a real learning experience, he makes a persuasive presentation well worth hearing. A handy booklet is included. D.R.W. 2007 Audies Award Finalist (c) AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine
