Klos, who was awarded the Handweavers Guild of America's Certificate of Excellence in Dyeing in 2002, is a dye master and coeditor of "Turkey Red Journal", a newsletter covering natural dyes. In this manual, she covers dyeing yarns and fabrics using synthetic and natural dyes. Klos, who emphasizes safety throughout, writes for the dyer wishing to achieve consistency in results through scientific methods and careful record keeping. The book includes quick reference information on burn tests for fibers as well as matching dyes to fibers. Recommended for academic or large public libraries. Small public libraries might prefer Betsy Blumenthal and Kathryn Kreider's "Hands On Dyeing".
