Johansen has devised a new concept in quilting-a way to make elegant bowls using fabric and a sturdy interfacing instead of batting to "quilt" them. Strategically placed darts give shape to the shallow bowls, which are designed to be as beautiful on the bottom as on the top. Richly illustrated step-by-step instructions and patterns for five different bowl styles are included, along with a source list to aid readers in finding recommended interfacings. This should be a popular title in public library sewing collections.
