Sian Thomas smoothly narrates this production, which could have been titled "How Aristotle Changed My Life for the Better and How He Can Change Yours." Not many would think of using ancient Greek philosophy as the basis for a self-help book, but Hall gives listeners a self-help book of a different color. Delivering autobiographical anecdotes by the author, Thomas describes the philosopher's concept of happiness, which, rather than material well-being, can be understood as contentment or felicity. In doing so, Thomas gives listeners 10 lessons for facing the difficulties of life. Her soft, expressive voice is quite serene, yet her British accent gives the production an academic tone. Overall, this production is a good match of text and voice. M.T.F. AudioFile 2019, Portland, Maine
