The author paints a portrait of Jerusalem through the people who most shaped its history--from King David to today. Because of the denseness of the material, listening can be a challenge at times, but narrator John Lee carries the listener along with a conversational tone. He doesn't add any false dramatics, but he varies his voice enough so that listeners won't tune out. The author's writing style also is accessible.
