A food activist and health advocate, the author first began learning about the hidden, and often toxic, ingredients in the foods that many people eat daily from restaurants and prepackaged foods from supermarkets when she fell seriously ill. She asserts that by eliminating the potentially harmful additives from our diet and focusing instead on foods in their natural state we will feel healthier and lose weight naturally. The book includes sample shopping lists, meal plans, and recipes in addition to an appendix listing many recommended resources.
