If youre a fan of action movies, you have seen Vic Armstrong many times. His first job was as a stunt double on Arabesque (1966); his first big break came on the Bond film You Only Live Twice (1967); and he was stunt coordinator on such movies as Raiders of the Lost Ark (and its sequels). This is a slightly unusual Hollywood autobiography in that it is almost entirely devoted to the authors professional lifeno sex, no drugs, no dissing other stars. This lack of scandal may bother some, but readers who enjoy their behind-the-scenes Hollywood memoirs to be about the actual making of movies will be delighted. Armstrong hasnt seen it all, but hes seen enough of it to be able to paint a picture of Hollywood film production from the late sixties to the present, and when he writes about movie stars (from Connery to Ford to Cruise), he writes about them with respect. A lively insiders look at many of your favorite movies, not to mention a fascinating glimpse into the life of a working stuntman.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2011, American Library Association.)
