Goucher is a top U.S. marathoner and World Championship bronze medalist as well as a wife and mother. Her guide will help women runners of all ages, whether running their first mile or seasoned marathoners. Chapters are organized around various aspects of running, e.g., training, building a network, nutrition, and injuries. Each chapter has a brief intro then presents information via bulleted tips for busy women, favorite quotes, and bits of wisdom from professionals, such as Goucher's coach, Alberto Salazar. Many chapters end with a Q&A section. Goucher is candid about her setbacks and provides advice and encouragement to help runners achieve their potential. Women returning to running after childbirth will appreciate the care she gives to this topic. While Runner's World Complete Book of Women's Running is a more comprehensive guide, Goucher's passion for running will inspire women to lace up their sneakers and start.
