Though usually geared to the experienced crafter (in this case, knitter), books published by Interweave usually feature fashion-like color photographs, expert instructors (in the form vetted authors), and the graphs, charts, and narratives so necessary to learning a new skill. This curated collection from Yeoh of 15 circular-yoke knitted sweaters is no exception. Patterns will appeal to both traditional and contemporary sensibilities: two- to three-colorwork neck designs, all-over cables, shawl-like lace, and even reversible designs. True to their crafts aesthetic, every Interweave pattern features sweaters photographed from every angle: Dover with its twisted Bavarian stitches; Modern Art, a reversible pullover; Sashiko with its embroidery, among others. Beginners should be aware that this requires a good mathematical understanding (not only for gauge and measurements, but also ease and shaping) and a strong grasp of knitting fundamentals, since, unfortunately, level of difficulty is not indicated.
