Harrison (Think: Why You Should Question Everything), himself a skeptic, poses questions here that both skeptics and believing Christians may wish to pursue about Christian beliefs. "This book is not an attack on Christian people," states Harrison, who wishes to help "Christians understand why...the majority of the world is still unconvinced by the basic claims of their religion." Each "simple question" is followed by brief commentary from a skeptical viewpoint. Some questions combat misinterpretations, such as the idea that atheists are evil since some evil dictators were atheists. Other questions such as "Have you read the Bible?" and "Do you know the real Ten Commandments?" reveal the shallowness of modern Christianity and the need for Christians to understand better non-Christian tenets and skepticism and their own beliefs. The insight here into a skeptic's mind compares to theologian Gregory Boyd's Letters from a Skeptic. VERDICT Both Christians and skeptics will enjoy this book for different reasons. Recommended for Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens fans as well as fans of apologetics such as Timothy Keller's Reason for God.--Ray Arnett, Fremont Area Dist. Lib., MI
