After years of last-minute, less than stellar utilitarian kitchen gifts, Quaker minister Sam Gardner is determined to give his wife, Barbara, a Christmas present she will love. He secretly enrolls in a scrapbooking class, but his Wednesday evening disappearances convince Barbara that her husband is having an affair. Meanwhile, Sam tangles with his austere teacher, Mrs. Hilda Gruber. When Barbara finally confronts Sam, she is relieved to learn that he has been faithful until a set of peculiar circumstances lead her and the whole town to assume erroneously that their pastor is dying. In true Harmony style, the townspeople set out to give Sam the best Christmas sendoff possible. Even those unfamiliar with this delightful series ("Home to Harmony", "Just Shy of Harmony") will find this novella delightful. Think "Seventh Heaven" meets "I Love Lucy".
