Previous entries in Cameron's Amish knitting series (Her Restless Heart; The Heart's Journey) told the stories of Mary Katherine and Naomi. Now readers are introduced to widowed Anna, who attends her cousin Naomi's wedding and feels the loss of her husband more deeply than ever. When she learns that John Esh is interested in courting her, she begins to feel that God has a plan for her, if she can only get over her fear of loving and losing again. VERDICT Cameron won the first Romance Writers of America Golden Heart Award in 1981. Her novels are staples of Amish fiction, and her latest homespun tale should appeal to readers who enjoy the works of Suzanne Woods Fisher and Janette Oke.
