As the budding relationship between Heather and Mike waxes and wanes, the past keeps intruding, as Jessica’s self-promoting ex-boyfriend pursues Heather and her parents, and a wannabe film producer seeks pay dirt by looking into Mike’s past. When Heather learns that Mike was there when her sister died, the couple’s happy ending hangs on uncovering the whole truth. The secondary characters are particularly memorable.
