There's a large cast of characters of both genders and across generations, and Burton's smooth portrayals ensure that they're all easy to distinguish, even during the fast-moving dialogue. Her narration of the elderly Italian-American characters sounds authentic and helps to conjure up the warm and supportive atmosphere of a busy West Philly community.
