Henderson (senior pastor, the Lighthouse Church, Houston) has translated his inspirational, energetic and down-to-earth preaching style to the page in this work on the "shifts" or transitory times in life when we may feel lost. Henderson openly shares "shifts" in his own life, from difficult life decisions while growing up in Gary, IN, a sudden end to a sports career, divorce, and the challenges of starting his successful church. Henderson challenges readers to use such "shift" moments from their own lives to reconnect them with their faith and God's plan for their own lives. The swift pace, conversational tone, and personal anecdotes make this an enjoyable read for those seeking inspiration through the lens of biblical scripture and positive thinking. The author includes engaging self-reflection questions and a prayer at the end of each chapter. Readers may notice parallels in other similar works by authors such as T.D. Jakes and daughter Sarah Jakes Roberts.
