The North Star

Tim Curry beautifully narrates a story that encourages each youngster to find his or her own path. Curry enhances the quiet but powerful message with his soothing and melodic narration, effectively altering his pace and cadence to heighten the story's mood. His vocal characterizations bring the listener deeper into the tale, as when the cat's slightly condescending and insistent voice makes the boy question himself. Curry also alters his pace to allow the listener to ponder the theme or to move along when the journey reaches an uncertain place. The well-composed musical score complements the production. J.K.R.
