Hexes for the Modern Age

Brains, a surface designer, illustrator, and humorist, assembles a book of quirky hexes (some with historical roots and some of her own devising) that will please readers who don’t take their hexing too seriously. Each hex is clever, a sentence in length, and accompanied by a fun illustration drawn by the author. Hexes are divided into cheeky categories such as pets, hipster life, weddings and events, daily drudgery, and roommates. The technology section contains some of the most memorable, such as “May Siri never understand what you are trying to say.” Brains’s light fare, which can be plowed through in under an hour, is sure to provide a laugh.
