Clinical psychotherapist Hokemeyer has spent years treating patients in positions of power. He has found that wealth and celebrity status, which should be liberating, often contribute to feelings of isolation and inadequacy. With this work, Hokemeyer unpacks the vulnerability and lack of social support that lie behind the facade of fame, which often leads to self-medication and sexual infidelity. Hokemeyer's therapeutic method boils down to listening to and being with that individual, realizing that the glitter of glamour only covers the emotional pain that is part of the human condition.
