Breathing Under Water

Some presentations on Twelve-Step Programs attempt to present the spiritual underpinnings in universal terms without regard to any particular denomination or tradition. However, Rohr wraps the Twelve Steps in the cloak of Christianity and talks about the role the Gospel can play in addressing a society that he sees as deteriorating from social addictions, as well as individual ones. Rohr speaks with fervor about the politics and myths of our culture that condemn those who differ from us and that have convinced many Americans that the United States stands above all others.
