Nearly innumerable books on Carl Jung's psychology are available, but few are both as comprehensive and as concise as Stein's primer. Himself a widely regarded analyst, Stein presents Jung's major theoretical contributions in language as uncomplicated as the subject allows. Persona and shadow, animus and anima, archetypes and the collective unconscious--Stein defines them all, locating them within the framework of Jung's thought and detailing their evolution in Jung's written work. Aimed at the general reader but sufficiently academic for the specialist, this is, for general collections, an excellent basic book on the subject.
