Narrating her parenting guide, Shaunti Feldhahn comes across as a reassuring regular mom. Chuckling lightly at her own jokes, she sounds genuinely interested and sometimes surprised by her own book's material. Teens are intoxicated with freedom, she says. They make poor choices because their brains are not yet fully developed. Teens want to talk to their parents, but only if parents listen without "flipping out." Offering insights from a national survey and personal interviews with over a thousand kids, Feldhahn and Rice share information and genuinely useful tips on how to better understand and talk with your teen. Though the authors, both devoted Christians, claim their research is meant for a wide audience, listeners should expect to find many references to God, prayer, and Christian parenting in this production.
