Aggression and romance work in parallel in the seductive third True Brothers Motorcycle Club novel (after Rebellious). Nicole Walker is a prim young woman who stays as far away from bikers as she can get—until she meets rough Shawn “Tank” Hudson. They have immediate and explosive chemistry, but Tank is troubled when he realizes that Nicole hates bikers for reasons she won’t reveal. Eventually, he learns her father, Bear, is an abusive biker who terrorized Nicole, her mother, and her brother until he went to prison for manslaughter. After his release, Bear unexpectedly shows up and brings havoc for Nicole and the True Brothers. As loyalties are tested, Nicole carefully begins leaning on Tank, but she struggles to believe a biker will ever treat her right. Archer keeps the pulsing energy flowing through a tautly plotted and at times violent tale. Her characters are complex people who could easily appear in anyone’s life. This roller coaster ride has broad appeal.
