At 29, Abby Patterson is a widow, having lost her husband and baby daughter in an automobile accident that also left her with a permanently damaged hip. But her overprotective parents still see her as their compliant, soft-spoken daughter. Although she wants to honor her parents as the Lord commands, they are making life too difficult, so Abby moves to the beach community of Seaside. Her new landlord, seminary professor Marsh Winslow, doesn't quite know what to make of his opinionated and beautiful new tenant. Before Abby's first day in Seaside is over, she witnesses a hit-and-run accident involving a little girl, triggering her own tragic memories and causing hysterical amnesia. But the driver at fault isn't about to let her recover her memories, even if he has to kill her. Roper (Spring Rain) crafts a novel filled with wit, humor, romance, and suspense. Though part of a series, this title stands solidly on its own. An outstanding addition for Christian fiction and romance collections.
