When Hollywood star Isobel Manella, her psi team in tow, comes to Seattle to star in and coproduce a movie with a friend, she meets Devlin Jones and, on impulse, goes sailing with him. They find each other disconcerting on several levels. She can't read his emotions, and he resists the psi skills and military allegiances held by her and her friends, preferring to rely on his street knowledge gained as a foster kid. Things change when Isobel's life is threatened by a former psi military man who, when stripped of his abilities in a CIA black site, turns murderous. This brings her boss, former Delta Force Commander Michael Gibson, and a team of Night Stalkers and Delta Force to participate in the movie in order to protect Isobel. Devlin, who has just been a set locator, handyman, and lover, gets involved in the movie which results in some extraordinary, nail-biting car chases.
