Veteran journalist Mroz (Scattered Seeds) explores history, literature, and science to delve into the depth and emotion behind female friendship. She explains why women treat friends like family, the difference between men's and women's friendships, the pain of friendship breakups, friendships in different age groups and cultures, and the effects of social media on relationships. Examples are taken from Mroz's own life, popular historical women, such as political figures and authors, and fictional literary characters, with Mroz's research cited throughout along with many similar books that could serve as read-alikes.
