Back in Gold Fever to search with his two cousins for the legendary stolen gold that their late grandfather was sure was hidden on their land, world traveler Wyatt McCord, flirtatious and confident in his charm, meets his match in free-spirited, independent Marilee Trainor, an EMT and pilot who thinks the treasure legend is just talk. When she finds some papers that change her mind, deadly accidents occur. Wyatt springs into action as a killer stalks Marilee, but as secrets bubble up from the past, the danger ratchets up as well. VERDICT Appealing protagonists and a town full of memorable continuing characters propel the puzzling plot of this engaging, lustful, and slightly boisterous family-centered romance that is second in the McCord cousins series. Ryan ("Montana Legacy"), who also writes as Ruth Ryan Langan, lives in the Detroit area. Note: Although this is a satisfying romance on its own, it contains a few spoilers for the first series title, so reading them in order is advised.
