Laddie

Through the narrator's captivating zest for life, Laddie wonderfully depicts family life on a turn-of-the-century Indiana farm. Interspersed with this simple story is a mystery concerning their new British neighbors. Laurie Klein's snappy reading makes the story easy to follow. She distinguishes most characters with great success; only a few, unimportant minor players blend together. The production is handled with professionalism, and the high quality packaging is simple, but colorful--a great purchase for libraries looking for the innocence of times past, particularly for older patrons.
