The Art of Slip-Stitch Knitting

Slip-stitch knitting--where yarn loops are intentionally slipped from one needle to another without knitting or purling--is used for a variety of effects, including faux stranded colorwork and textured knits. Goberstein and Merchant-Dest, who previously collaborated on The Art of Seamless Knitting, explore this diverse technique through a series of stitch, garment, and accessory patterns. The authors divide the collection by type of slip-stitch pattern--traditional (including mosaic knitting), woven, fancy (including faux lace and cables), and reversible knits.
