Gray (Knit Local) curates a collection of cute baby knits suitable for everyday wear, all requiring three (or fewer) skeins of yarn. The focus is on play clothes, with a few small toys, blankets, and accessories as well. Size ranges include standard baby sizes (three-12 months) as well as extended sizes through 4T for select projects--which means that this book will continue to be useful for the first few years of baby's life. Most projects are suitable for confident beginners; there's some basic colorwork and cabling, but the size and scope of the projects make it accessible to novices. VERDICT These fashionable pieces will appeal to knitters who appreciate the quality of hand knits but prefer projects that can stand up to baby and toddler wear.
