Teachings of Joy and Oneness

[EDITORS NOTE--This is a combined review of A KABBALISTIC APPROACH TO THE WORLD, ONLY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON CAN CREATE A NEW WORLD, and TEACHINGS OF JOY AND ONENESS.]--Three archival recordings treat listeners to live performances of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach (1925-1994), whose words and songs introduced several generations to the spiritual world of Judaism--the Kabbalah. The "live" performances include introductions and interludes filled with niggunim (wordless tunes) heard today in religious and secular venues throughout the world. Mysticism, biblical teachings, and kabbalistic insights into the nature of human relationships are featured between the niggunim. The publisher re-mastered these recordings, which include spontaneous comments by the rabbi as well as audience reactions. Rabbi Carlebach's performances touch one's soul and one's life. M.B.K.
