Davis O'Kane works part time as a radio talk-show host and full time as part-owner of a popular restaurant in Nightingale, NV. About to be divorced and divested of his property and his twin girls-not to mention his dignity-Davis finds the murdered body of his latest flame, a bartender at his restaurant. As the plot progresses, so do complications: Davis's partner uses the restaurant for money laundering, a local horse owner bamboozles people with a stand-in horse, and a lawyer friend who owns an escort service helps with divorce advice. And then there's Davis's gambling addiction. This first novel offers nonstop entertainment, peppy prose, and crafty complications. For most collections.
