Calming verse pairs with mixed-media collages in a quietly uplifting bedtime story that recaps the highlights of a day well spent. "Night night sandbox/ and shiny slide./ Night night wagon/ with bumpy ride!/ Night night puzzles,/ books, and toys./ Night night friends,/ girls and boys." After bidding goodnight to his pet dog, his family, and even the "speedy fast" feet that carried him down a soccer field, the child waves goodnight to the golden moon: "Dear tomorrow,/ see you soon!" The repetition and gentle tone of the verse and Richmond's naïf, comforting collages make this an excellent way to wind down the day. Ages 1â4.
