Gabi loves the tricycle she receives on the holiday's first night—in fact, she even names it Hanukkah. A bad spill leaves her feeling skittish, but the courage of the Maccabees inspires her to get in the saddle again. The overly earnest story and wooden acrylic paintings don't do any favors to either Jewish history or the young heroine. Ages 3–6.
