PreS-Gr 1-Lucky's boy is starting school and the pup doesn't think he can have fun without him. Then he sees not only lots of boys and girls in the schoolyard but lots of dogs as well. All of the canines seem sad until they go to the park for a day of fun. Lucky is reunited with his owner after class is dismissed and they both go home happy. Large, colorful cartoon illustrations on double-page spreads offer some visual interest but the thin plotline provides little narrative interest.
