This cautionary tale finds a young unnamed boy enjoying a simple, solitary life of nature, exploration, and contemplation until the eccentric "professional visionary" Constantine Shimmer enters his world. Norm Lee's delivery captures the youngster's quizzical, bedazzled impressions as the flamboyant visitor brings an amusement park, hotel, and commotion to the formerly tranquil land. Expressing the wonderment of the innocent adventuring into a new land, Lee's awed tone gradually evolves into questioning confusion and disillusionment as the nonstop clamor and excitement engulf his formerly peaceful existence. Though brief, this story can be listened to multiple times, giving the listener new insights with each performance. M.H.N. (c) AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine
